About Javacat Cafe dot Com

I started my blog in an online community in April of 2005 so that I could hear myself think.   It was scary, engaging, enlightening and annoying all at the same time.   I was so successful in entertaining myself and less-than-a-handful of others that in 2007 I bought a piece of Internet real estate and this is where I built the new blog.  The new blog is furnished with archives from the old blog as well as some always fresh additions.

I am a non-Mormon, former Catholic, free thinking heathen living in Utah, a truly beautiful place. I work in Ogden as a technical writer for a very awesome marketing firm. I have an amazing husband who supports just about every impetuous hairbrained idea I have, including this one and three smart, beautiful children. When I’m not working, I’m the family chauffeur, chef and maid. If there are two minutes left at the end of the day and I’m not fainting away with exhaustion I’m reading, writing, hiking, biking and snowboarding in the mountains.

The theme I am currently using is a stock theme from WordPress altered, ripped apart and rebuilt by me. This blog is hosted by the people behind the curtains at Bluehost. com. I host ads from Google, which means that I may or may not agree with the content, hence the pervasive advertising from right wing nuts like….   Ignore them and maybe someday I’ll have earned enough money from these ads to buy us both a nice cup of coffee.

Java, I like your new page. I’m still on Y-360, waiting to see what it morphs into. If I don’t like the direction, I’ll take the same route you did, to WordPress or Blogspot or some other more contact (vs. social) site.

I’ll check in with you from time to time: I miss your comments and e-mails.

    Jim

    Java!

Good to “see” you again. This is “lexbaby” from Y-360. I got away from that and started a “tech” blog of sorts for fun.

Great job (as usual) on the new site. Keep it up!

    Jared
